Diagnosis and treatment of common mental illnesses :

  • Depression: low mood, loss of interest in pleasurable activities, Sleep and appetite changes, lack of attention and concentration, forgetfulness, lethargy, suicidal ideas or attempt .
  • Anxiety disorders
    • Panic disorder: sudden palpitation, sweating, dizziness, restlessness, insomnia, tremors, fear of heart attack and death

    • Depressive and anxiety symptoms secondary to recent loss, recent change in life or any adverse situation.

Diagnosis and treatment of severe mental illnesses

  • Schizophrenia and psychotic disorders: Abnormal behaviour, irrelevant talking, delusion, hallucination etc.
  • Bipolar mood disorder: excessive talking, risk taking behaviour, insomnia and elated mood etc.
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder: Recurrent thought like dirt contamination, doubt etc. and recurrent behaviour like washing, checking etc.


Diagnosis and treatment of

  • Premenstrual dysphoria :Mood swings, extreme irritability, anger outbursts, excessive crying etc during premenstrual period
  • Peripartum depression: Depressive symptoms during pregnancy or immediately after delivery of baby.
  • Marriage and relationship related problems.


Following are the general guidelines for visiting patients in hospital:

  • People with fever, cold sores, cough, nasal drainage, colds, diarrhea, or any contagious disease should not visit patients
  • Adolescent issues: Relation issues, Peer pressure, maladaptive behaviour changes, substance abuse etc.


  • Epilepsy ( convulsions)
  • Memory related problems
  • Behavioural and psychological changes secondary to CV stroke , brain tumours etc.
  • Delirium, acute confusion and behavioural changes secondary to underlying medical conditions


  • Dementia: memory loss , poor attention etc
  • Depression
  • Other behavioural and psychological issues in elderly


De addiction from substances like

  • Nicotine: Tobacco chewing, cigarette smoking etc
  • Cannabis: bhang, ganja, joint etc.
  • Alcohol: beer, whiskey,rum, country liquor, tadi etc.
  • Opium: afin,kala,morphine, spasmoproxyvan etc.


  • Cognitive behaviour therapy ( CBT) and rational emotive behaviour therapy ( REBT): for depression, anxiety, stress related problems
  • Motivational enhancement therapy: for behaviour change
  • Marital therapy, family therapy etc.
